You don’t have to be Nostradamus to see that AI is going to radically transform how we work. But I think many of us underestimate how much “doing stuff”—even complex, knowledge-based stuff—is more than ever going to become a commodity.
The value humans will continue to add will be intensely focused on creativity, problem solving, innovation, and strategic thinking. Smart execution will remain an imperative, but I think it will grow even more integrated with the strategy process itself, and will increasingly be aided by AI tools.
Organizations that continue to think about “work” as “making sure employees get through a pile of tasks” will fall way behind.
